Dan Gould Posted November 30, 2023 Author Report Posted November 30, 2023 Any further feedback on possible plan to split up signees into two month-long BFTs which has added advantage of covering the currently un-claimed February slot? We are at 18 signups, I was thinking we could keep that open into December and if we finished with 20-22 that would make a good total for two BFTs,, and could accommodate 24. Quote
mjzee Posted November 30, 2023 Report Posted November 30, 2023 A shorter BFT brings a better chance of my listening and participating, so I vote for two. Quote
JSngry Posted November 30, 2023 Report Posted November 30, 2023 So this will be 239 + 240? Or are we skipping 239 altogether? Quote

Dan Gould Posted December 4, 2023 Author Report Posted December 4, 2023 UP for more signups! We are at 18 - target is 20 with I think a max of 24, for at the high end, 12 total tunes for February and for March. Quote

tkeith Posted December 10, 2023 Report Posted December 10, 2023 Alright, I blocked both months out to split the test. I think that makes sense given the response, and since we STILL have a remaining open slot (September) after I claimed July, I don't feel like we're pushing anyone off. Quote
Dan Gould Posted December 10, 2023 Author Report Posted December 10, 2023 Alrighty then ... we still have room for 1-3 more people to join in the fun so I will keep registration open. I think it would be fair to split up the confirmed group by January 1 and ask for tunes by January 20 for February and February 20 for March? Quote
Ken Dryden Posted December 14, 2023 Report Posted December 14, 2023 I think I have finalized mine and it is under five minutes. The more the merrier, since there are plenty of people interested. Quote
Dan Gould Posted December 21, 2023 Author Report Posted December 21, 2023 UP for 1-3 more participants? I plan to divide the sign ups into two groups so people know if they need to submit their selection in Janauary and I will do that around January 1. Quote
Dan Gould Posted January 5, 2024 Author Report Posted January 5, 2024 Please see opening post which is now edited for my division of participants into February and March groups. Quote
Ken Dryden Posted January 6, 2024 Report Posted January 6, 2024 I have my track selected, let me know when to submit it. Quote

Dan Gould Posted January 7, 2024 Author Report Posted January 7, 2024 Thanks to mjazzg who successfully decoded my instructional update in the opening post and has successfully sent his track for February. And even though he said, in not so many words, that it's a Felser, I didn't hate it! <green smilie thing here> Quote
Big Al Posted January 13, 2024 Report Posted January 13, 2024 Just sent mine. Hope it's not too offensive. I promise it's not Percy Faith (even though the temptation was there) 😁 Quote
danasgoodstuff Posted January 13, 2024 Report Posted January 13, 2024 How do I make/send an MP3? Quote

From the edited Opening Post: Please send an mp3 to my email, which is a hotmail account with my screen name run together. If you have not participated before, MP3 encoding should be 256 mps or 320 mps. Naming convention is your screen name. (I reserve the right to reject any track for any reason whatsoever. KIDDING.) Target date is by January 20. You may send at any time. I am not sure where to start if you have not made an MP3 before. But you would need audio software - lots of free ones available - to "rip" a CD track to an mp3. Looking forward to your contribution. Quote
Dan Gould Posted January 13, 2024 Author Report Posted January 13, 2024 And we're two for two so far on submissions for February. Not that I couldn't live without either one of them, but no clinkers so far. Way to go, @Big Al Quote

Windows Media Player can be used to do it if you have a Windows PC and a CD/DVD drive on it. PM me and I can help more. If you don't have the right equipment, and If your track is something you think I might have in my collection, I can rip it for you and disqualify myself from ID'ing the track. Quote
