Dan Gould Posted July 24, 2023 Report Posted July 24, 2023 I laughed a lot harder than I'd like to admit. Quote
HutchFan Posted July 24, 2023 Report Posted July 24, 2023 These guys were part of the Athens, GA scene -- with REM, the B-52s, Pylon, and the like -- while I was at UGA. Quote
JSngry Posted July 24, 2023 Author Report Posted July 24, 2023 These last two, are they tractor songs? Quote
Jack Pine Posted July 24, 2023 Report Posted July 24, 2023 I assume this was the tune HutchFan referred to: I misspent my youth following those guys around. Quote
JSngry Posted July 24, 2023 Author Report Posted July 24, 2023 If it's a tractor song, it's for what is being asked!!! Quote

rostasi Posted July 24, 2023 Report Posted July 24, 2023 Oh, yeah. That's something I picked up a number of years ago. Johansson's discography has lots to enjoy within. Quote
HutchFan Posted July 25, 2023 Report Posted July 25, 2023 That Johansson post makes me think that there must have been some propagandistic "tractor music" written during the days of the Soviet Union. These posters (and many others like them) testify to the importance of tractors in the Soviet scheme of things: Also -- if I recall correctly -- some of the most brutal fighting during the Battle of Stalingrad was in and around a tractor factory.
