The Robert Patterson Singers "People Get Ready" (United Artists Records)      1969 .... actually a gospel platter, but lead singer Mildred Lane performs like a second coming of Aretha Franklin ....

Double Exposure "My Love Is Free" (Salsoul)       1976 .... obviously a big Disco hit, but the lead vocals of Jimmy Williams are the best 70's soul had to offer beneath Teddy Pendergrass and Eddie Levert .... the Tom Moulton Mix bringst the rhythm backbone of Ron Baker and Earl Young to the fore favourably ....

Rod Stewart "The First Cut Is The Deepest" (Warner Bros Records) .... "blue eyed soul" cover of this Cat Stevens song recorded @ Muscle Shoals Studios .... always wondered how this would sound without strings (added later @ Criteria Studios, Miami) ....

Leon Ware "Don"t You Wanna Come" (Gordy)    1976/2003 .... Marvin Gaye admired the work of Leon Ware and took over all songs destined to be Ware's first album on Motown for his "I Want You" release .... the demos from the original Ware sessions give an idea about the originator's qualities ....
