clifford_thornton
I am inclined to say I have heard of it before but never seen a copy. Does it actually exist? https://www.discogs.com/release/15827956-Charlie-Mariano-Meets-Anthony-Braxton-Elegy-For-A-Goose

He's (at least semi-) local, you could probably ask him. I've communicated with Joe before via his website. Edited April 14, 2023 by T.D. Chuck Nessa
I loved this credit - "Recorded live on November 31,1981 by Konrad Lorenz at Foie Gras, Paris, France". Someone's goose was cooked.
colinmce
I have never seen nor heard of this. I'd wonder if it's even real myself.

clifford_thornton
yeah, good catch on the date. My buddy knows Fonda and is asking him.
Niko
"Konrad Lorenz" and "geese" isn't a random combination of words either...
ep1str0phy
This band is absolutely stacked, and I have my doubts that Braxton would pen something and name it "Geese Suite" (unless these are random track titles assigned by a bootleg producer).
clifford_thornton
yeah, there's no way he would've called pieces by those titles. I suspect it is a boot of some sort.

He even went into his archive and he is 100% sure that he never was part of this recording. The same question was asked to Aki Takase by the original submitter. She is sure never to have played let alone recorded in this line-up. The original submitter found this "release" (it would have been rather a double LP - tt 62:14) at the former website of Charlie Mariano's daughter. She insisted that this LP does exist but never saw it by herself. I strongly tend to believe Günter Sommer and Aki Takase.  Edited April 17, 2023 by Onxidlib
mjzee
There is a club in Paris named New Morning, and Braxton played there on September 8, 9, 10 & 11, 1981. Â Hoping this is helpful. https://www.newmorning.com/tags/3311-anthony-braxton.html

clifford_thornton
All right, so as an LP or a CD it is probably fake.
T.D.
Looks like a hoax / joke to me. If so, chapeau to the perpetrator  , rather cleverly done IMO.
