Rabshakeh Posted March 29, 2023 Report Posted March 29, 2023 (edited) Polish alto player, who is on Andrej Trzaskowski's Seant, oddly alongside Ted Curson. I am enjoying his playing, which is gutsy in the early FMP vein. Surprised to have never heard of him, particularly because he appears to have released a number of records. Does anyone know anything about him or have anything to recommend? Edited March 29, 2023 by Rabshakeh Quote
mjazzg Posted March 29, 2023 Report Posted March 29, 2023 Always fancied a copy of 'Seant' but prices are steep for the first Polish presses. I'll be interested to hear what folk have to say about Nahorny too Quote

Nothing earth-shattering, but a fine record of Polish "New Thing"-jazz. Quote

Д.Д. Posted March 30, 2023 Report Posted March 30, 2023 "Heart" is solid. Nothing earth-shattering, I agree. The only other album of Nahorny I have is "Pioseniki lwowskie" recorded in 1995: https://www.discogs.com/release/8000514-Włodzimierz-Nahorny-Piosenki-Lwowskie . It's a mainstream folk-type thing with accordion and violin, Nahorny plays piano exclusively. It's cute. Quote
