Terrific!  Even though I’m pretty behind on actually listening to this music 🤣

This was my thought as well. Might just wait until the all arrive and do one long session at this point.

Nimbus West Records Quality Albums Since 1978

The IUCC series continues with 3 incredible concerts from Horace Tapscott and the Pan Afrikan Peoples Arkestra.

Just landed - NOW SHIPPING

March 79 : the Ark in transition , Jesse Sharps has recently left to serve in the armed forces, and the setlist pays tribute to his songwriting genius, with both Mykowski’s 1st Fifth and the legendary “Desert Fairy Princess” written for and lead by the desert fairy princess herself, Adele Sebastian. This is where Sabir Mateen steps into the spotlight with the debut performance of his iconic and monumental VILLAGE DANCE.

April 1979 saw the Arkestra further settling into the new lineup after the departure of Jesse Sharps , featuring wonderful takes of both the Village Dance, and Mykowski’s 1st Fifth.. Adele Sebastian and Sabir Mateen really stepping in to lead the group to new heights. An unheard Tapscott gem , Song of Emanon, would fit comfortably in a film, and is painted with delicate detail by the master himself.. finally, Duke Ellington’s birthday is honored with an unforgettable Tapscott take of Mood Indigo.

September 1979 features a beautiful and heartfelt rendition of Coltrane’s EQUINOX, which flows into Tapscott’s singular Coltrane Medley. The completely unheard Sabir Mateen composition , A Call For Truth, is here finally for all to devour in its full glory.. After burning down the room with “Leland’s Song” ,Linda Hill takes the mic for the deep soulful take of Come Sunday. A full band take on Alan Hines’s “Speedy Mike” rounds out the proceedings of another classic Sunday afternoon.

What are the 3 unissued??

There are 11 sets in the series (mostly doubles with some singles) with 8 having been released so far & three more left to be issued/released (unsure of titles/dates as not listed yet AFAIK)
