clifford_thornton Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 I think it's getting a little late, I'm kinda tired. And sort of hungry too, even though I ate that big cookie at 8:30. Maybe I'll go to bed now. Anybody else? Quote
wesbed Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 (edited) I'll be up for another hour or so. I'm listening to The All Seeing Eye, playing on my computer, drinking a beer, and reading a Mosaic booklet. Sound familiar? I suppose I should be sleeping right now. But, not. I start playing the music and I'm as good as not going to sleep for a while. It's a little past midnight for me. Not a bad night so far. Edited March 30, 2004 by wesbed Quote
Jazzmoose Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 Definitely time to hit the sack. I have to get up in six hours for work, so this is ridiculous. Just one more forum... Quote
wesbed Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 The time is a few minute before 1:00AM. I'm playing Coltrane live At Birdland. Quite an excellent performance by John and the rest of the Quartet. Mesmerizing. If I didn't have to work in the morning I'd have a cup of Seattle's Best Coffee. Brewed strong & black and enjoyed with sugar & milk. Quote
wesbed Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 Hmmm... Thursday night, 11:42PM. I'm listening to the Curtis Amy Select. And, on my way back to the fridge for a second can o' cheap beer. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted April 2, 2004 Author Report Posted April 2, 2004 What kind? I was rockin' some Grain Belt Premium (MSP's finest) earlier. Quote
wesbed Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 What kind? I was rockin' some Grain Belt Premium (MSP's finest) earlier. I said cheap. I think the can said Old Style... but, not sure. I'll check on when I open my fridge. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted April 2, 2004 Author Report Posted April 2, 2004 I dunno, Old Style is trappist-quality compared to Grain Belt! Gonna go hit the wasabi peas I just bought and make my forehead crawl down my neck. Quote
7/4 Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 I got back from a show 'bout an hour ago. Having a drink and checking the forums. Sleep in 15-30 mins. Quote

clifford_thornton Posted April 2, 2004 Author Report Posted April 2, 2004 Wasabi does some strange shit, man... Quote

Other than an hour or so this afternoon and 9pm-to 1 am when I heard ....YNGVIE!!! I've been checking this board all day. I had a couple of shows of my own last week end so I'm on a bit of a late schedule this week... I'll check the news wires and call it a night. Quote
wesbed Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 Wasabi does some strange shit, man... I remember... the first time I tried shushi. I didn't know what I was doing. I had some California-roll type thing. It was all vegetables with rice. I saw the wasabi and thought it was some kind of avocado spread. I took a dip of the green stuff on it's own. I remember my head spinning around, getting sinus pressure, and feeling like I wasn't going to be breathing much longer. I'm glad I was alone when I had my first wasabi experience. Quote

I didn't know about the soy sause. I was ready to eat it dry. Never liked wasabi so I never really got the burn. -_- Quote
clifford_thornton Posted April 2, 2004 Author Report Posted April 2, 2004 Well, ya gotta eat the pickled ginger slices as a chaser to the wasabi. It cools the burn and gives you a nice, tart edge to start that next slice of roll. Wish I wasn't so inland, else I'd be swimmin' in sushi... Quote
wesbed Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 I like what I've tried of sushi, which isn't all that much. I don't believe I'm yet ready to stomach the octopussy. But, I'd like to try some other things. The problem: I never know, from the sushi menu, what to order... and it can be fairly expensive to order something that is not familiar. Quote
