wesbed Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 (edited) This is the view from my bed as I type this note on Monday night. Yeah, my time seems to be mostly my computer and my collection of CDs lately. Notice the 'nice' stand I have for my computer? Have you got a bed? Edited March 30, 2004 by wesbed Quote
clifford_thornton Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 Yeah, but I'm not sleeping with 'Trane, Cecil and a bunch of Mosaics! Nor am I sleeping with anybody right now, but that's not something Organissimo can rectify... Quote
Saxophone__Vagina Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 hey wesbed, do you have stairs in your house? Quote

wesbed Posted March 30, 2004 Author Report Posted March 30, 2004 (edited) Thank you Claude... in the spirit of this thread! I wonder where else I can find Blue Notes stashed around my house? Maybe in some very interesting places. hehe... Saxophone__Vagina - hey wesbed, do you have stairs in your house? Damn, no stairs in my house. You'd be the first to get the picture if there were only some stairs. Edited March 30, 2004 by wesbed Quote
AfricaBrass Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 Good one, Claude! If I were you, I'd keep your cool jazz in the fridge. Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 (edited) I wonder who's going to be the first to put a picture of a Kenny G disc in the loo(thats the 'john' to you lot!). Edited March 30, 2004 by Bev Stapleton Quote

Oh, but who wants to be the one person who admits to having a Kenny G in his or her possession, to get the picture? Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 One could always claim one was taking one's responsibilities to the artform seriously by purchasing all the copies in the neighbourhood in order to flush them away and leave the jazz racks unsullied. [please read with copious dollops of irony] Quote
wesbed Posted March 30, 2004 Author Report Posted March 30, 2004 unsullied unsullied is an excellent word. I'll need to find ways to use it more. Thanks, Bev. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 I particularily like the phrase "copious dollops". Sounds latin. Quote
wesbed Posted March 31, 2004 Author Report Posted March 31, 2004 The view from the driver's seat of my car, looking across the passenger's seat, as arrived home at day's end. Done with another day of freaking work. Quote

John B Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 I recognize one of those discs, Bev. Based on a post of yours a while bak I bought Simone Guiducci's Chorale and brought it into work today. Great music! Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 Very nice floral pattern, Bev. The shop where I bought it went bust a few weeks later! I wonder why? Quote

Probably my favourite disc of last year...even though it came out the year before! I've always thought that "Best of " lists for a particluar year should include any release I heard for the first time that year, to be accurate. Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 Quite. I've heard the complete 1928 Mississippi John Hurt recordings for the first time this year. Do you think they'll make the "best of" lists at the end? A scandal! Quote

wesbed Posted April 2, 2004 Author Report Posted April 2, 2004 View from the bed. I'm in a box set mood tonight. The Miles Columbia Blackhawk box doesn't have the neat little booklet offered with the Mosaic Selects. The Curtis Amy is a killer (and has kept me up way past my bedtime). I'm on my bed but not in my bed. Quote
