I was born the year before "Sesame Street" hit the airwaves, so I was the perfect age. Along with "Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood," it had a lasting impact on my childhood. R.I.P. 😢 😢 😢 Quote
JSngry Posted December 5, 2022 Author Report Posted December 5, 2022 Both of my kids grew up on those shows. In that day, Sesame Street was on three times a day on the Dallas PBS station, and we ( yes WE!) watched all three whenever possible. Quote
Justin V Posted December 5, 2022 Report Posted December 5, 2022 I grew up watching Sesame Street and my daughter still loves it. When it moved to HBO, they dumbed it down and several beloved cast members, including Bob McGrath, were dropped. We watch the older episodes. Bob McGrath always approached his role with enthusiasm and a twinkle in his eye. RIP. Quote

There's some backalley Roku channel that offered up a few Sing Along with Mitch shows with McGrath featured. Also in the band was Leslie Uggams. Who are the people in your neighborhood inDEED!!!! Kevin Bresnahan Posted December 6, 2022 Report Posted December 6, 2022 (edited) While I was a bit too old for Sesame Street, my sister watched it all the time, and with only one TV in the house, I watched it a bit too. Looking back at it now, I realize it was "pre-school" before that was a thing and Bob McGrath was a big part of it. Edited December 7, 2022 by bresna Quote
