clifford_thornton Posted October 11, 2022 Report Posted October 11, 2022 Ah, that's too bad. RIP. Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted October 11, 2022 Report Posted October 11, 2022 I only know this one track (from a VA comp), but really love it -- a remake of Johnny Dyani's "Kalahari" (aka "Lonely flower in the village", as it's titled on the 20+ minute long, CD-only bonus track from Dyani's Song For Biko) This track is really wonderful, and I wish they'd reissue the entire album on CD. clifford_thornton Posted October 11, 2022 Report Posted October 11, 2022 ah, yeah that one I haven't heard. The Latin Jazz Quintet stuff is solid to good of course, some of it a bit too "mood" for me but it all depends on what you're looking for... I'm a fan of the Cobblestone album, which has a bit more "edge" to it in my opinion. Quote
