Ken Dryden Posted October 8, 2022 Report Posted October 8, 2022 I had a delightful interview with David Hazeltine today using Skype. My issue being it is an audio only mp4 and I have been unsuccessful finding a way to burn it to a CDR. I typically have played files like this using the headphone jack on the iMac to connected stereo inputs on my Tascam CD recorder, but I am not hearing anything through the headphones and even the level output isn't showing anything. I also have a laptop capable of burning CDRs. Can anyone help with suggestions? Quote
John L Posted October 8, 2022 Report Posted October 8, 2022 Maybe you can first make an MP3 version. I use software called Switch to do things like that. Quote
JSngry Posted October 8, 2022 Report Posted October 8, 2022 Foobar still works great on Windows, and they have a version for Mac. But I can't speak to that. Quote
Dan Gould Posted October 8, 2022 Report Posted October 8, 2022 VLC is another software that works well to extract or convert file formats. Quote
Ken Dryden Posted October 8, 2022 Author Report Posted October 8, 2022 (edited) I’ve been using Foobar to download to my laptop so I will try it. Thanks for all the suggestions. it was nice being able to record a Skype call but it was troublesome that it would vanish after 30 days. Edited October 9, 2022 by Ken Dryden Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted October 8, 2022 Report Posted October 8, 2022 If you want to back it up on a CD-R, just burn it to a CD-R as an mp4 file. You can burn any data file to a CD-R. It doesn't have to be an audio file. Quote
Ken Dryden Posted October 8, 2022 Author Report Posted October 8, 2022 If I can’t play the CDR in a CD player, it is kind of useless to me. I burned a CDR using the mp4 file an hour ago when I couldn’t get Foobar to convert it to an mp3. I will see what happens. Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted October 8, 2022 Report Posted October 8, 2022 Does this work? https://cloudconvert.com/mp4-to-wav Quote
Ken Dryden Posted October 9, 2022 Author Report Posted October 9, 2022 My CDR is playing so I have no issues. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. Quote
