Dan Gould Posted September 10, 2022 Report Posted September 10, 2022 (edited) I definitely cannot recall seeing this before. mhatta Posted September 11, 2022 Report Posted September 11, 2022 Wow -- "The tape box indicated Rahsaan was standing on his head for the entirety of this interview!" Quote
Dan Gould Posted September 15, 2022 Author Report Posted September 15, 2022 Gotta say I am surprised there was basically no reaction to a link to Kenny Dorham talking about his career but whatevs. From the home page of that site, here is Bed Sidran interviewing RVG: http://jazzstreams.ddns.net/www/KCHO/KCHO-Evening-Jazz-1987.mp3 Quote
Quasimado Posted September 15, 2022 Report Posted September 15, 2022 Enjoyed the Kenny - very relaxed interview from 1969 - will gradually work through the rest of the archives. Listening to some of the KJAZ interviews made in the 70's from musicians who were active in the 50's and earlier gives real insight into the uncomfortable changes they had to face to survive ... Great resources - many thanks Quote
sidewinder Posted September 15, 2022 Report Posted September 15, 2022 (edited) Enjoying streaming the Cedar Walton from ‘89 (Kimballs show with the Trio) onto my hi-fi. Thanks for posting - will be delving into more of these, for sure. These shows are like being in a time machine. The Buddy Rich opens up with Hank Mobley’s latest offering ‘The Flip’ and then Buddy’s latest ‘Mercy Mercy Mercy’. Love it ! Edited September 15, 2022 by sidewinder Quote
