Peter Friedman
There are many many albums with Joey DeFrancesco as leader and as a sideman. I am not familiar with most of them. What do people here recommend as the best ones to get?

Tom in RI
I am by no means deeply into Mr Defrancesco but I have always liked the date he did with Danny Gatton on Big Mo called Relentless. BillF
The perfect organ trio with Paul Bollenback and Byron Landham. Joey is very good (both verbally and musically) on this one, too: Edited August 27, 2022 by BillF

robertoart
This more recent one is something to enjoy. It captures the brilliant trio he had together for some time with Dan Wilson and Jason Brown. So glad I got to experience this trio live. Sadly to be no more. Milestones
My go-to records for Joey are Live at Yoshi's with Pat Martino and McLaughlin's After the Rain (which has Elvin on drums). Guitar/organ/drums doesn't get any better. Concerning his work as a leader, I favor Reboppin'--a generous 14 tracks and covers of Miles, Trane, Monk, Shorter, Silver, plus originals. You'll also hear his trumpet playing. Put it on a blindfold test and most would guess it's Miles.
