Frank Lowe - Chaos (unissued Survival Records session footage)

Here is a 12 minute short film called "Street Music" comprising footage from a February 19, 1973 session intended for release as Chaos on Survival Records. Was anyone aware of this session, or has anyone heard it?

The Ali is Ali Abuwi of Aboriginal Music Society fame.

That last tune is the centerpiece on a Noah Howard ensemble bootleg I have, similar to Live at the Village Vanguard but with Richard Dunbar added and Art Lewis in Rashied Ali's place. I don't know the title of that composition but I'd guess it's from Frank's book.

Do we know who owns the rights?  One of those esoteric companies should issue it!

Rashied Ali's widow owns the Survival catalog and is working with Triple Point Records to gradually issue archival material.

It was my understanding there were supposed to be more releases in the Survival archive/reissue series. I'd wonder if they have these tapes or what.

I asked HBA at Triple Point and will report back whether this one exists.

Yes, and some of the Sultan material is at Columbia. I can try to ask him the next time I see him.

great bit of footage. I've had a soft spot for Lowe since seeing him play with Billy Bang, Sirone and Dennis Charles in the late 80s.
