JSngry Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 (edited) Has this material been issued before, and if so, where?Personnel seems less than accurate. Seems that I hear Illinois Jacquet on one tune, and an uncerdited bari player on another, Does anybody have correct personnel? This disc is from the infamous Disconforme combine. Is this same material currently available from a more legitimate label? Is there any chance at all that video footage survives of any of this stuff? Pretty amazing stuff, with some interestingly peculiar lineups ( SEE HERE FOR DETAILS ). To say that sparks fly puts it more than too mildly. And to hear 1958 Prez & Bean trading fours on a blues... As always, thanks in advance. Edited March 25, 2004 by JSngry Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 This material comes from a Boris Rose label called Enigma. The Enigma stuff was subsequently booted by Jazz Connoisseur, Musidisc and a host of others. Quote
JSngry Posted March 25, 2004 Author Report Posted March 25, 2004 Thanks, Chuck. A bootleg of a bootleg, eh? Burn with a clear conscience! Quote
