Elemental will be releasing a 5LP set called "Revelations: The Complete ORTF 1970 Fondation Maeght Recordings"

Only 600 copies - ridiculously low for someone like Albert - annoys the crap out of me, just causes intense competition & flipping

Hopefully Elemental will release it digitally (3 or 4 CDs) - I have two CDs worth already, the ESP-Disk CD "Live On The Riviera" & the Water CD "Nuits De La Fondation Maeght 1970" (compilation of the two original Shandar LPs)

I actually do want this but I have no doubt I will not get the LP version (because it'll be sold out to grip & flippers). Stupidly low pressing run.

I see there are only 500 to 750 copies for many of these forthcoming RSD sets, including the two new Bill Evans Argentinian sets. Ridiculous !

Definitely going for the CDs here, looking forward to it. Maybe this opens up the possibility of an official CD release of the Cecil Taylor concert?

Agree.

there are also three tracks on the Holy Ghost box, so that leaves 10 unreleased titles AFAIK

Still, hearing the music directly from the original ORTF tapes will be a revelation - cannot wait

Yes, yes, yes! (Please.)

And ... I'm on board for the CD release of the Ayler too. :tup

Apparently even the CD release of this set will be a limited edition also...

you can't. It's an RSD title.

I went to my local shop, and paid them for the set. The man said he will be ordering it, but if it falls through, he will give my money back. I haven't bought any RSD titles before. Does this sound kosher to you?

My understanding is that the entire point of RSD is that you turn up on the day hence all the queues. This is premised on a 'no advance reservations' policy which is widely advertised. Whether individual outlets choose to adhere to this policy is a different matter. I suspect your shop owner isn't advertising his preparedness to reserve very loudly as I suspect he'd be cut out of future RSDs.

So in essence, not kosher by the stipulated rules of RSD as I understand them but kosher by any kind of 'keep the punters happy' rules introduced locally. If he's a kosher kind of guy
