jazzbo Posted February 18, 2022 Report Posted February 18, 2022 I'm with you hoping for a cd set! Quote
Dub Modal Posted February 18, 2022 Report Posted February 18, 2022 I would bet it ends up on Ayler's Bandcamp page eventually. Quote
jazzbo Posted February 18, 2022 Report Posted February 18, 2022 (edited) Looking at Elemental's page a 4 cd set will be released April 30! Edited February 18, 2022 by jazzbo Quote
JSngry Posted February 18, 2022 Report Posted February 18, 2022 How much video footage from that gig survives? Quote

clifford_thornton Posted February 18, 2022 Report Posted February 18, 2022 I actually do want this but I have no doubt I will not get the LP version (because it'll be sold out to grip & flippers). Stupidly low pressing run. Quote

clifford_thornton Posted February 18, 2022 Report Posted February 18, 2022 I assume it is because the pressing plants are so backed up, but it's really dumb and will just drive up the price. Have the Shandar LPs and the ESP CD but would love to hear the additional music. Quote
sidewinder Posted February 18, 2022 Report Posted February 18, 2022 RTI must be booked solid just doing Tone Poets. Quote
colinmce Posted February 18, 2022 Report Posted February 18, 2022 Definitely going for the CDs here, looking forward to it. Maybe this opens up the possibility of an official CD release of the Cecil Taylor concert? Quote
Dmitry Posted February 18, 2022 Report Posted February 18, 2022 How dies one reserve the records? Go through the local record store? Quote

romualdo Posted February 19, 2022 Author Report Posted February 19, 2022 there are also three tracks on the Holy Ghost box, so that leaves 10 unreleased titles AFAIK Still, hearing the music directly from the original ORTF tapes will be a revelation - cannot wait Quote

JSngry Posted February 19, 2022 Report Posted February 19, 2022 Video? Isn't the You Tube clip with Mary Maria from this same concert? No? Yes? I don't know. Different clearances, yes? But... Quote
romualdo Posted February 19, 2022 Author Report Posted February 19, 2022 (edited) I suppose this "upcoming" (back in late 2020) Hat Hut release is now redundant Edited February 19, 2022 by romualdo Quote

Chuck Nessa Posted February 19, 2022 Report Posted February 19, 2022 I've decided to not play in this game. Quote
sidewinder Posted February 19, 2022 Report Posted February 19, 2022 Not Ayler but talking of the RSD event, this caught my eye - Recorded University of Alberta, 1972 Quote

The man said he will be ordering it, but if it falls through, he will give my money back. I haven't bought any RSD titles before. Does this sound kosher to you? Quote
mjazzg Posted February 19, 2022 Report Posted February 19, 2022 My understanding is that the entire point of RSD is that you turn up on the day hence all the queues. This is premised on a 'no advance reservations' policy which is widely advertised. Whether individual outlets choose to adhere to this policy is a different matter. I suspect your shop owner isn't advertising his preparedness to reserve very loudly as I suspect he'd be cut out of future RSDs. So in essence, not kosher by the stipulated rules of RSD as I understand them but kosher by any kind of 'keep the punters happy' rules introduced locally. If he's a kosher kind of guy Quote
