bertrand Posted January 30, 2022 Report Posted January 30, 2022 It seems that Wolfgang's Vault is not offering downloads for sale anymore? What is going on? I got a lot of what I wanted over the years, but I was given a gift certificate for Christmas by a bunch of DC Jazz artists and I have a huge credit I need to use... Quote
Ken Dryden Posted February 1, 2022 Report Posted February 1, 2022 (edited) I guess you can use the certificate for their overpriced vinyl, though their clunky search function makes it very slow going. I need to allow my subscription to expire this fall. Edited February 5, 2022 by Ken Dryden Quote
bertrand Posted February 5, 2022 Author Report Posted February 5, 2022 My new theory is that the Goerge Wein Estate made a fuss. Lucky I grabbed most of the good stuff years ago. Quote
John L Posted February 5, 2022 Report Posted February 5, 2022 It seems that the music is still there but only for streaming. There must be some good software for transforming streams into digital files. Quote
medjuck Posted February 5, 2022 Report Posted February 5, 2022 Audio hijack is very good. Also is the streaming only just for the Newport stuff or for everything? Quote
Ken Dryden Posted February 5, 2022 Report Posted February 5, 2022 (edited) You can hook a computer directly into a cd recorder, but those annoying gaps will be inserted in real time. To make a show worth listening, those gaps need to be removed. Edited February 5, 2022 by Ken Dryden Quote
bertrand Posted February 6, 2022 Author Report Posted February 6, 2022 I have a $240 credit to spend. Group gift... Quote

I use Goldwave and run a mini plug from my headphone plug to my line-in and record away. Quote
bertrand Posted February 10, 2022 Author Report Posted February 10, 2022 Someone asked and they are claiming no one was buying the downloads and it was costing them too much, I don't buy it. Any suggestions on what I can do with my $240 credit between now and December? Quote
jcam_44 Posted February 10, 2022 Report Posted February 10, 2022 Maybe just buy clothing or physical media Quote
