It seems that Wolfgang's Vault is not offering downloads for sale anymore? What is going on? I got a lot of what I wanted over the years, but I was given a gift certificate for Christmas by a bunch of DC Jazz artists and I have a huge credit I need to use...

I guess you can use the certificate for their overpriced vinyl, though their clunky search function makes it very slow going. I need to allow my subscription to expire this fall.

My new theory is that the Goerge Wein Estate made a fuss. Lucky I grabbed most of the good stuff years ago.

It seems that the music is still there but only for streaming.   There must be some good software for transforming streams into digital files.

Audio hijack is very good.  Also is the streaming only just for the Newport stuff or for everything?

You can hook a computer directly into a cd recorder, but those annoying gaps will be inserted in real time. To make a show worth listening, those gaps need to be removed.

Yes, it's called audio editing software.  I use Goldwave and run a mini plug from my headphone plug to my line-in and record away.

Someone asked and they are claiming no one was buying the downloads and it was costing them too much, I don't buy it.

Any suggestions on what I can do with my $240 credit between now and December?
