sonnymax Posted December 29, 2021 Report Posted December 29, 2021 (edited) John Madden, a legendary figure known to one generation as a Hall of Fame coach, another generation as the sport’s greatest announcer, and yet another generation for the video game that bears his name, has died at the age of 85. The NFL announced Madden’s passing today. Madden’s influence on the sport of football is impossible to overstate. He was the youngest head coach in pro football when Al Davis hired him to coach the Oakland Raiders, and he led them to a Super Bowl title while having so much success that he still has the all-time highest winning percentage among all coaches who won at least 100 games. sgcim Posted December 29, 2021 Report Posted December 29, 2021 RIP. I always liked listening to him announce a game. Now we're left with Al Michaelsh. I don't know if heesh too cheap to get implantsh, or he getsh washted before a game, but shomeone should take the mic away from him if he hash to shay a word with the letter esh in it. Quote
Holy Ghost Posted January 11, 2022 Report Posted January 11, 2022 I like teams, I like coaches, but I didn't like Oakland nor Madden...until I watched him coached. He could eat this game like a piece of pie. Brilliant behind the scenes and a great strategist and that earns my respect. RIP sir. Quote
