yeah, "Cool Dogs" and "Two Oranges" are both tunes on the record, a collection of 50s Frankfurt recordings which I'm sure she never got paid for.

When I saw the title of this thread, I immediately thought of the Dave McKenna/Wilber Little LP with the "lettuce cover."  Lo and behold, I opened the Guardian article, and there it was. 

That's gotta be the worst I've ever seen.

There are countless hideous album covers.  But as far as being a disservice to the music, the 32jazz reissue of this classic album has always stood out for me:

I can't stand Marshall Arisman's covers, esp for jazz records.

What happens when you have a cheap ass label, you hire the worst designer to create your cover art. I failed to read the guardian link or I would have seen that the first cover made the writer's list, too.

Dave McKenna said about these sessions for Honeydew, "They sound like they were recorded in a toilet and I never got paid."

No one misses Honeydew Records...

What was the deal with Honeydew? I only have one album on the label, the Dizzy Reece LP.

It was probably a poorly funded independent label that sank like a stone due to its cheapness and shortcuts. I don’t know who owned it or if any artists were paid.

They did four volumes of Elvin/Vanguard live stuff, the same date that Enja got one record out of. George Coleman aplenty. Skyscapes, the were called, IIRC.

Likely too prosaic to rank on many  "worst of" lists, but this one made a terrible impression on me:

There are quite a few unattractive Chick Corea album covers, for whatever reason.
