This was recorded live January 5, 6 & 7, 2018, at SMOKE Jazz and Supper Club, NYC. Smoke Sessions already released some of this material on CD last year:

I'll have to pick up these two CDs. This is a great band.

The first Coltrane-influenced Mabern I heard was many decades ago on an LP of Wes Montgomery in Europe, doing "Impressions", where I first heard the great piano of Mabern.

While I wait for my copy to arrive in the mail, I am streaming this on iTunes. I am really liking it. The entire band is at top form.

My copy is due to arrive today. I already got in the earlier recording, "Mabern Plays Mabern", and it's very good. I think this band is killer.
