Posting Images from the InterWebz

I used to be able to copy and past photos from my Google Photos web drive into threads here, no problem. But recently it's not working. I paste the photo into the submission box, it looks fine at first, but later converts to a bunch of text-based code for some reason.

Anything change? Or any suggestions?

I've also started getting error messages for album covers I copy over from discogs with the error being that they are too big. Pulling in a photo from an outside web source never gave an error like this before. It used to happen when you tried to upload a file from your own PC, but not from a web source.

I've scanned a book cover, dropped it into Post Image and get this; . which doesn't seem to open.  What am I doing wrong?

I haven't used PostImage before, but looking at the site, you shouldn't have to manually edit anything. I'm guessing that you were attempting to use the links provided as "Thumbnail for forums" or "Hotlink for forums", both of which contain HTML code that isn't needed here. You want to copy the link provided as "Direct link", and plug that in via the Other Media > Insert Image from URL button here.

The Direct Link should be used because it contains the image file extension (like .jpg or .png), which "Link" does not, and a lot of forums won't post a picture properly unless the URL contains an image file extension.

That's right

But Discogs images should allh have those extensions.

Try clicking on the image on the page. That will open up multiple images if there are any. Then open/share each one individually rather than as a group
