There is a Youtube video from a record store owner in Phoenix (I think) who bought George Benson's record collection.  It is very entertaining, especially the parts where George invites him to lunch and then, on another day, takes him out to dinner.  George seems to be the real deal.  Here is the link to the first, apparently of numerous, several videos.
