Postscript: Producer Hank O'Neal relates that Dicky Wells was to be on the date but he fell ill during the recording session and had to be sent home. The number of titles recorded with Wells playing sadly had to be scrapped because, per O'Neal, "there was no way to edit them or mix them as to salvage those tracks on which Dicky appears. This is a pity because the playing around [Wells] is exceptional." I'll bet Chuck could have saved the day. Quote
