There was an interval when Purple Gums was a more or less regular sight up in the Bay. The trio itself was/is really strong, but their concerts provided an opportunity to spend time with Bobby. I haven't encountered many musicians of his stature who can make an audience Q&A sound and feel so conversational and intimate. Quote
