Has this been discussed? Releasing next month, apparently as part of one of those Record Store Day promotions.  Amazon has the 2 CD set for $60! (And there’s also a 4 LP version.)

Yes, it has been discussed. See

Am seeing it on cd for well less than that here…

$25.99 as of my posting this link here.

That’s for in store purchases only.

Yeah, and what Rooster is linking to is Rough Trade stores in the UK...wonder if Dusty Groove will provide an American counterpart?

yes, they will.

Not necessarily. There will be 1,800 for sale of each of the LP and CDs in stores.  DG essentially says that what doesn’t sell on Saturday will be available for online sales.  See https://www.dustygroove.com/search.php?sf=bird+in+la This is the practice my record store follows after the first few hours of RSD.

Both Amazon and Import CDs have the Japanese cd version listed so perhaps it’s offered this way to other customers, just as the Resonance Bill Evans CDs are offered after RSD. The Import CDs price is considerably cheaper than Amazon, $37 vs $60.

No, that is the US Rough Trade store. The last time I checked the UK RSD list, this was only listed on cd.

I looked into this a while but lost my notes (or just didn't save them). I think the only really new tracks (if any) are the last three tracks from LP2, JATP 1948 in a quartet with Al Haig. That session at the start of LP2 is a nice one though

How do you have “Record Store Day” when there aren’t any record stores?

There is a small record store in Santa Barbara.  They mainly sell used Lps but have some cds.  I think they survive (so far) by repairing equipment.  i've asked them to try to get  a cd of Bird in LA for me.  I don't think anyone else in town will be looking for it.  I've also asked them to put me down for the Foo Fighters "DeeJees" cd which my wife wants.  Probably more competition for that one.

Thank you so much !!!!!!

I just preordered it. That´s a must for me.

And they do promise that if they lower the price you'll get it at that new price.   (I ordered it through them too incase I can't get it from my local records store.)
