Buddha the Magnificent Posted June 16, 2021 Report Posted June 16, 2021 Thanks for the heads up, z. I like both those guys Quote
tranemonk Posted June 16, 2021 Report Posted June 16, 2021 Already preordered... I loved Mulgrew... I always believed he was soo.... underrated. His 3cd set with Kenny Barron is fantastic. Quote

My only quibble with the review is I think the author minimizes Mulgrew. I can't wait for this one. I hope there's more in the vault to be released someday. Quote
sidewinder Posted July 16, 2021 Report Posted July 16, 2021 The vinyl for this one seems to have been pulled from tomorrow’s RSD - at least over here. Same with the Charles Lloyd. Quote
kh1958 Posted July 16, 2021 Report Posted July 16, 2021 I had an email from Resonance earlier this week that my CD had been shipped. Quote
mr jazz Posted July 16, 2021 Report Posted July 16, 2021 Also a good review in today's Washington Post but let's be honest, his drug use exacerbated his other health issues. He was so terribly thin the one time I saw him that it was no surprise to read of his arrest. Sadly, another drug casualty. Quote
mjzee Posted July 20, 2021 Author Report Posted July 20, 2021 This got a very approving review in the Wall St Journal. Quote
Hardbopjazz Posted July 24, 2021 Report Posted July 24, 2021 This is even better than I expected. I just finished the first disc, and I am on to the second disc. Man, what a tragic loss to lose both of these masters of their instruments at such young ages. Quote
kh1958 Posted July 24, 2021 Report Posted July 24, 2021 I thought both discs were excellent. It captures well the Roy Hargrove I remember from live performances. Quote
