Alec Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 Anyone have a fairly inexpensive copy of this boxed set for sale? I've seen it for $125 and up, but hoping I can find it cheaper. Let me know. Thanks! Quote
sjarrell Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Great stuff- I've got the Clifford one on CD, and sweet LP burns (off of clean original EmArcys) of With Striings, The Nearness of You, Dream of You and At Midnight. But I've never seen the box set! Didn't even know that it was out there. OOP? Quote
jazzbo Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Way out of print. . . out of print five years? More? Quote
king ubu Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Way out of print. . . out of print five years? More? I'm looking for this one, too. I think it came out in 1987! That's at least five average CD-life-times... I found that year on some website when googling for the set a while ago. ubu Quote
Alec Posted March 23, 2004 Author Report Posted March 23, 2004 Geez, now people who didn't know about it are going to be looking for it! I never should have said a thing Quote

(DOES work that way sometimes!) @Lon: feel free to send me that spare copy hidden in your closet any time! @Claypone: I'm looking for this one for some time already, and @couw: now if you don't find one googling, we can all give up anyway, no ubu Quote
couw Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 (edited) @couw: now if you don't find one googling, we can all give up anyway, no depends on how much money you want to spend... there's TWO sets available here (one for you, one for me?) If you have the dough to spend, I am willing to take one off your hands (as a gift of course)... Edited March 23, 2004 by couw Quote

couw Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 yeah well, here too this set seems to be very much sought after; I cannot imagine why else prices would be so insanely high. I found some offers for 250$, cheapest was 125$ I believe. The price for a new set was what? 50$? Quote
jazzbo Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 I think the new set was more like 64 dollars or so, I could be wrong, but that's what I remember those Verve four bangers like this going for. Quote
JohnJ Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 For those that asked, I am still on the lookout for any used copies in my regular visits to the various Disk Union's in Tokyo. This set seems to be rare though. I was lucky enough to find a copy for around $20 a couple of years ago but have seen nothing recently. Quote
JohnJ Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 For anyone interested, this set is being offered on eBay UK: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/THE-COMPLETE-HELEN-M...1QQcmdZViewItem Quote

I already own this set and I don't plan to sell it but it's sort of like knowing the value of your house-- you may never plan to sell but it's comforting to know its value. Quote
