mjzee Posted May 19, 2021 Report Posted May 19, 2021 (edited) I found this an interesting read. It's the history of the Reservoir label, with remarks by Mark Feldman, its current status, and some comments about Rudy Van Gelder: https://www.stereophile.com/content/reservoir-story Edited May 19, 2021 by mjzee "It's" is always "it is," and not the possessive. Dan Gould Posted May 19, 2021 Report Posted May 19, 2021 Yes its helpful to be independently wealthy if you are going to operate an independent label focused on jazz. But I don't see the story as depressing ... he's committed to the music he's recorded, improving recordings that bugged him, and keeping it all in print. I've enjoyed Reservoir recordings. I admire the man behind it just as much. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted May 19, 2021 Report Posted May 19, 2021 I've known Mark since the '80s. He's a first class fellow. Quote
cliffpeterson Posted May 20, 2021 Report Posted May 20, 2021 I run across Mark at concerts in the area. A very nice man indeed and full of wonderful stories. Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted May 21, 2021 Report Posted May 21, 2021 Reservoir Records is one of my favorite record labels. I really like their Nick Brignola catalog. Thank you Mr. Feldman for the great music. Quote
