Late
Anyone know the personnel? I'm guessing that Shepp's doubling on piano, but who's on clarinet? It sounds like Perry Robinson. Maybe a Finnish clarinetist? Based on the photo, that looks like Don Moore on bass. Is that J.C. Moses on drums?
carville
Archie Shepp: saxophone, piano Bill Dixon: trumpet Don Warren: bass Howard McGray: drums Perry Robinson: clarinet Recorded live at the Helsinki Conservatory August 2nd 1962 as part of the World Festival of Youth and Students for Peace and Friendship. Caravan
"Don Warren" = Don Moore (of 1963 New York Contemporary Five fame) and "Howard McGray" = Howard McRae (who also played in the 1962 Dixon-Shepp Quartet on Savoy.
