JSngry Posted March 20, 2021 Report Posted March 20, 2021 It's like the 7th Series of Prestige...how many of these are there? And how many do you have? 17 LPs + a 45, is that correct? Quote

clifford_thornton Posted March 21, 2021 Report Posted March 21, 2021 There's also Carmell Jones In Europe which includes cuts from Nathan Davis "Hip Walk" and Annie Ross/Pony Poindexter. Quote

GA Russell Posted March 21, 2021 Report Posted March 21, 2021 I remember Oscar Peterson on Prestige! very well. I also recollect Jean-Luc Ponty's Sunday Walk. allmusic.com says that Sunday Walk was issued on Pausa, but I think that Prestige put it out along with those of the OP. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted March 21, 2021 Report Posted March 21, 2021 yeah, I have the SABA German pressing of Sunday Walk, which is the original version as I understand it. Quote
kh1958 Posted March 21, 2021 Report Posted March 21, 2021 Taking a more deliberate browse through the Japanese Prestige discography, I counted 21 MPS reissues. These were: 7595, 7631, 7634, 7636, 7649, 7668, 7669, 7672, 7676, 7684, 7685, 7690, 7691, 7692, 7694, 7695, 9696, 7702 7760, 7762, 7763. I seem to have most of them in blue or purple label pressings: 17. Quote

PR 7696 = The Teddy Wilson Trio In Europe; 1968 licensed from Metronome (Denmark) not MPS There appears to have been some reciprocity? Interesting to see Zoller getting co-leader (and forst billing) for the MPS version, but not on the domestic version. Quote

Zoller was much better known in Germany than Friedman. Or he talked Brunner-Schwer into handling it like this. Quote
