Some very good material on those samples. That Neil Ardley ‘Olympic Studio’ material recently put out by the excellent ‘Jazz In Britain’ operation is a real find - early NJO demo and a prototype run of ‘Greek Variations’. Also some fine and rare stuff put out by Gearbox. Really like That 2LP Alan Wakeman Octet set that they have put out.

Great selections but too much hyperbole. Also, Moholo is only on one additional track of the Elton Dean; Phil Howard was the group's drummer and plays on the rest of the album. Bandcamp Daily writing has, in my experience, left quite a bit to be desired.

It does seem like a misleading title for the article, "The Real Swinging London: The Legacy of Brit Jazz". Other than the first three tracks by Harriot, Tubs, and the Neil Ardley cut, there's very little 'swinging' going on.

A better title might be "The Roots of Progressive Jazz in London: The legacy of Brit Progressive Jazz and Jazz-Rock". It was interesting hearing Jon Hiseman trying to swing a big band.
