A highly historic venue in the history of jazz in Detroit. The photo showing Joe Henderson, Kirk Lightsey, Herman Wright and Roy Brooks  that is part of the article, is a classic.

I feel fortunate to have seen all 4 of those musicians playing in Detroit while I was living there many decades ago.

See "Before Motown", page 147. ;) Somewhat cropped, though.

However, they identify the bassist as Ernie Farrow there.

It's Wright and not Farrow -- the caption is incorrect in Before Motown.
