Stonewall15 Posted December 19, 2020 Report Posted December 19, 2020 I am really interested in this session. How do I go about getting the LP or a CDR? Quote
mikeweil Posted December 19, 2020 Report Posted December 19, 2020 I will get me a copy, on vinyl if there is no CD. I always wished for a trio session without Desmond. You can order from the ORF shop: https://shop.orf.at/de/oe3/2659/dave-brubeck?number=2018627 Quote
JSngry Posted December 19, 2020 Report Posted December 19, 2020 Where / how did they find Paul? Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted December 20, 2020 Report Posted December 20, 2020 I’d consider getting this, if it were on CD. That short Miles at Newport set that Wayne got stuck in traffic for (in July(?) 1969), is pretty interesting, and I only wish it were a full hour, as opposed to the short 25-30 minute set that is is (the Miles I’m referring to, that is). Same here .... me not being a dedicated Brubeck follower, but the Piano Trio format (based on the forementioned circumstances) and this taking place in my home town would have been of interest .... btw I`m positive - if this derived from tapes owned by Austrian Radio (as it seems) - the complete concert was recorded .... The notes on the ORF site says only one concert was recorded. Did you notice Sam Woodyard's bass drum behind Eugene Wright? Perhaps they were sharing the bill with the Duke, and that's all there is. JSngry Posted December 20, 2020 Report Posted December 20, 2020 How do they know that the Paul they got back was the real Paul? Quote
mikeweil Posted December 20, 2020 Report Posted December 20, 2020 Maybe he was never the same again after the Reeperbahn experience, and that's why the band split up ? Quote
Stonewall15 Posted December 20, 2020 Report Posted December 20, 2020 Perhaps this Paul Desmond problem has something to do with Dave's unhappiness about "The Last Time We Saw Paris" session the next day. Quote
JSngry Posted December 20, 2020 Report Posted December 20, 2020 I wonder if he was killed in a car wreck or something? Quote
