clifford_thornton Posted December 18, 2020 Report Posted December 18, 2020 Terrible news. I had hoped to connect with him on a project this fall but it didn't come together. What a legacy. Quote

Chuck Nessa Posted December 18, 2020 Author Report Posted December 18, 2020 (edited) First met him back in the middle '70s - very nice fellow. He was also a great accompanist as displayed in these discs: Edited December 18, 2020 by Chuck Nessa Quote

ejp626 Posted December 18, 2020 Report Posted December 18, 2020 RIP - Such sad news. I didn't see him live often, but at least once with The Cookers and maybe at the Chicago Jazz Fest as well. Quote

sidewinder Posted December 18, 2020 Report Posted December 18, 2020 This is a big shock. He was playing fantastically well at that Strata East London concert several years ago (2016?) and looked in good shape then. RIP, a great talent and a very nice guy by all accounts. 7 hours ago, Peter Friedman said: Very sorry to hear this sad news. By coincidence just played his solo at Maybeck CD yesterday. His ‘Maybeck’ is one of my favourites in that series. Superb. Quote
