nmorin Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 (edited) This might betray my ignorance of SACDs, but here goes... Using something like Easy CD Creator or Nero, can one copy the CD layer of an SACD hybrid? If I bought, say, the SACD hybrid of Monk's "5 by Monk by 5", could I make a CD copy for my walkman or for the CD player in a car? Edited March 19, 2004 by nmorin Quote
vibes Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 You can definitely do this. I make mp3's from the CD layer of my SACD hybrids without any difficulty, so making CD copies can be done as well. Quote
Claude Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 The only problem you could encounter is that the DVD drive in your PC may not be able to read the disc. I have a Pioneer DVD drive from 1999 that ejects all hybrid SACDs. But I can read their CD layer without a problem in my CD burner drive. Hybrid SACDs are meant to be fully compatible to all CD-capable devices, but in practice there are occasional problems with DVD players and DVD drives. Many car CD players now use DVD drives. Quote
JohnS Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 I've only tried this once and it copied without any problems. Quote
