This was unearthed in 2013 (IAJRC Convention in K.C.), but hasn´t been available until now.

Session details in Peter Losin's Charlie Parker discography:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 6, 1941 (1 item; TT = 3:28)
Unknown venue, Kansas City MO
Private recording (Acetate) (B-)

Charlie Parker (as); Bernard "Buddy" Anderson (tpt); Orville "Piggy" Minor (tpt); Harold Bruce (tpt); Joe Taswell Baird (tb); John Jackson (as); Harold Ferguson (ts); Bob Mabane (ts); Jay McShann (p); Gene Ramey (b); Gus Johnson (d); Joe Coleman (voc)

1 I'm Getting Sentimental Over You (inc) (G. Bassman-N. Washington) 3:28
Opening theme, vocal chorus, Parker solo, vocal (fade out)

This promotional recording was rediscovered in 2012, and the master is in the John B. Tumino Collection at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Although the tune is incomplete, it includes a beautiful 32 + 4-measure solo by Parker at a relaxed tempo. A version of "Margie," with Joe Coleman's vocal and closing with a laconic eight-bar Parker solo, was also recorded on this date.

Losin's is only mistake (minutiae!) is the date this recording was unearthed. It was 2013, and not 2012, as confirmed by our board member Fernando Ortiz de Urbina in his blog (well worth to be checked!):

Credit where it's due. Just got wind that Phil Schaap (who else?) aired this two years ago, on September 20, 2018. It's the show "Early Bird Recordings" here. He played the excerpt four times, at 6:40, 9:42, 17:56, and 1:09:44.

By the way, clip seems to be half-step higher/faster than it should.
