Albums You Should Own

I thought it'd be fun to list albums that, given your tastes, collection and the album's availability, you should already own.  It could give some of us the nudge to finally close some gaps.

In my case, Andrew Hill's Point of Departure stands out.  I own every Andrew Hill Blue Note aside from Point of Departure and Compulsion!!!!!.  I think that when I bought most of my Hill albums, I was focused on finding the OOP titles and figured that Point of Departure would be around.

I had two that I recently rectified Marcus Strickland - Of Song and Christian Scott - Ancestral Recall. 

 

Three that I need to get and just haven't yet is Wayne Peet/Vinny Golia - No Reverse, Vinny Golia/Ken Filano - The Art of Negotiation, and Vinny Golia/Henry Kaiser/Bob Moses/Damon Smith/Weasel Walter - Astral Plane Crash.

I need to order Noah Preminger's Dry Bridge Road also.

Vinny Golia’s Regards for Norma Desmond is one I think of as I’ve considered buying it for 20 years!!

Agreed on both! I’ve streamed Astral Plane Crash multiple times just haven’t added it to the collection yet. I’m well over 60 led or co-led Vinny releases so I can’t stop now. Haha.
