Saw this on Twitter and thought I'd see what this crowd comes up with. From the original tweet:

take an ad slogan, put it in the past tense, and now you have a cryptic tagline for a new hit movie.

#pasttenseaslogan

The best I've thought of:

Left Home Without It

Virginia Was For Lovers

what do you got?

Posted

Did she or didn't she?

Every kiss began with Kay

What could brown have done for you? (UPS)

Did you hear me then?

Took a licking and kept on ticking

The Quality Was slogan is choice.

Is there a current slogan like "You've got a good thing going?"  I did some sleuthing and didn't see anything, perhaps because it is too generic.

Very funny but I can't find the exact tagline that goes that way in the present tense form? Nevertheless :tup

On radio/TV ads I seem to remember the tagline being that it comes from contented cows?

Saul Wright!

How about:

They Made Money The Old Fashioned Way. They Earned It.

I like that We Left the Light on For You because it fits a horror movie/haunted hotel genre perfectly.

Some of these others are amusing for the twist in meaning but don't have obvious movie genres to be actual taglines.
