JohnS Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 I always listen to jazz ewith stings recordings in the hopwe that something new and interesting will come up. Nice as they are I don't hear too much in the usual ballad albums. A particular favourite of mine is Dixzzy Gillespie with the Operatic Strings (Paris 1952). There have been a few things I've heard where the use of a small string group has been particularly imaginative, Don Cherry's "Relativity Suite" for example. Quote
