Hot Ptah Posted April 3, 2020 Report Posted April 3, 2020 This is one of those posts which reveals the great lack of tech sophistication of the author (me). When I had Windows 7 on my desktop, I found it very easy to add photos to posts here. I would right click on the photo. A drop down menu would appear with the word Properties as one option. By clicking on Properties I would get a link which I could copy. Then I would click on the Insert other media rectangle at the bottom right of the post here on Organissimo. I could then paste my link and it would appear in my post. Now Windows 7 has finally bitten the dust, and with Windows 10 I do not get the Properties option when I right click on the photo. I have tried the options I do receive, and can't figure out how to add a photo to my posts here. Can anyone with more than my tiny amount of technical knowledge give me a step by step tutorial? Thank you! Quote
JSngry Posted April 3, 2020 Report Posted April 3, 2020 Try either View Image, or even better, Copy Image Location. The former will open the image and you can copy the URL from the address bar. The latter will just copy it directly to the clipboard for you, ready to paste into whatever you want to paste it into. Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted April 3, 2020 Report Posted April 3, 2020 I just right click the photo and then "Copy Image". Then I come back to the entry window and press Ctrl V. Like this: This is the late Bill Withers. Quote
JSngry Posted April 3, 2020 Report Posted April 3, 2020 not sure that pasting the image directly into the reply window work with all versions of all browsers with the forum software, we've had mixed results reported here about that. The only foolproof way is to use the Insert Image button. Quote
Coda Posted April 3, 2020 Report Posted April 3, 2020 Is the picture on your hard drive or up on the web? Quote

Kevin Bresnahan Posted April 4, 2020 Report Posted April 4, 2020 Does copy and paste work for you? I've tried it in Firefox and Chrome on my Windows 10 machine and several Linux machines and it's worked on all of them. Quote
JSngry Posted April 4, 2020 Report Posted April 4, 2020 Use the Insert Other Media button in the lower right of the post box. Then select Insert Image From URL. Just make sure the URL ends in a valid file-type extension Quote
