mr jazz Posted May 19, 2003 Report Posted May 19, 2003 I was listening to it yesterday and my wife kept saying this is really good. I've noticed each time I listen to it I hear a new element. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted May 19, 2003 Author Report Posted May 19, 2003 Thank you, Mr. Jazz. We appreciate your comments. Please spread the word! Quote
AfricaBrass Posted May 19, 2003 Report Posted May 19, 2003 (edited) I know I've been raving about this cd for a while, but I just wanted to do it again. I've been out of commission with bronchitus, but I've been listening to this cd while I've been sick. It's been a real ray of sunlight. If there is anybody still on the fence about it, please give it a shot. Maybe it's the medication I'm taking, but I heard the fluidity of Pat Martino in Joe's playing. I wish I could see you guys live. One request: I really dig the sax on the cd, but it would be really cool if you could get Jim Sangrey to play some on the next cd. Since he's a member of the Organissimo family and all. Good luck with your tour! :rsmile: Edited May 19, 2003 by AfricaBrass Quote
Joe G Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 I've been listening to Martino all this week. It must be the meds. Sangrey would be a blast. Too bad half the continent separates us. I guess we could record a track then send it to him, though it wouldn't be the same. Hey Jeff, you don't happen to live near San Francisco, do you? I have friends near there, and it would be fun to hang out the next time I visit. Joe Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted May 20, 2003 Author Report Posted May 20, 2003 Texas ain't too far. I'd be willing to make the trek. Or hell, with plane tickets as cheap as they are, we might be able to fly him up to Michigan for a few days if he'd cut us some slack on his day rate! How about it brotha? Quote
AfricaBrass Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 Hey Joe, I'm about 7 hours from San Francisco. I'm in the southern part of Orange County. It would be great to see you guys, but I can't imagine my wife letting me get away. Though, she does love San Francisco.... It would be neat to have a west coast Organissimo event. Get a bunch of us together to see you guys and do a meet and greet. :rsmile: Quote
Joe G Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 That would be cool. You would all have to wear name tags that say, "Hi, my name is AfricaBrass" and so forth. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted May 20, 2003 Author Report Posted May 20, 2003 As I've mentioned in other posts, I'm in West Virginia at the moment doing a corporate show for Ford (the video editing aspect) but I'm currently working the gig aspect of it as well. Next year we're in San Francisco!! And the band they had playing the comedy night here at the Greenbrier this trip was an "organ" trio, but they were lame as hell. The guy didn't even have a real Hammond. Huey Lewis, the talent for the BIG night tonight (the last night of the awards) has a REAL Hammond on stage (a beautiful 1956 mahogany B3). Anyway, I'm trying to make it happen! Quote
bertrand Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 (edited) I was able to snag one of the last copies before musicboy used his industry clout to have them all pulled from circulation. I've gotten through about half of it and am enjoying it immensely. The recorded sound is excellent as well - I love the way the guitar and the b-3 blend together. Great job, guys! Bertrand. AfricaBrass Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 I just want to mention that 2 year olds love the album too! My son was having a great time listening to the cd in the car. He was boppin' his head (in time). Maybe he'll get the jazz bug early! :rsmile: Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted May 27, 2003 Author Report Posted May 27, 2003 I have several friends with little ones that say they like the record. It makes me feel good that kids can enjoy the music too! Quote
Out2Lunch Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 Got mine in the mail today and am enjoying the hell out of it.You guys really make beautiful music together!! I thought since I check around this board quite a bit that I should contribute a few bucks toward the cause and it is money well spent. Thanks for this board and for the wonderful listening experience with the CD. It will be in the cd player a lot ,I'm sure!! Quote
catesta Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 (edited) Okay my CD came in the mail yesterday, and I'm thinking "what the hell did I get myself into?" Then I put the CD in the player, I have to admit it's damn fine music. Edited May 30, 2003 by catesta Quote
Joe G Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Okay my CD came in the mail yesterday, and I'm thinking "what the hell did I get myself into?" Knee deep in da funk! Quote
Clunky Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 (edited) tracks 1,3 and 5 are my favourite (sorry cant recall names) it's got a good groove but critically plenty of interest no cheese which is excellent and amazing as I thought all B3 albums had to have some fromage to some extent ( all that is except Larry Young and Jeff Palmer) so bravo B) B) Edited May 30, 2003 by Clunky Quote

Jim Alfredson Posted May 30, 2003 Author Report Posted May 30, 2003 Thank you everyone for your purchase and comments. Our goal as Organissimo is to take the tradition of the organ trio and expand it. We're very proud of the CD and personally it makes me want to get back into the studio and do another one. But we have to get this one paid off first. Quote

That's about right. Ya know, all of my Ravi Shankar collection is microwavable. B) Quote
Out2Lunch Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Ya know, all of my Ravi Shankar collection is microwavable. B) Ravi Shankar. I think I've heard that name before. Isn't he related to some FAMOUS person? Quote
catesta Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Ravi Shankar. I think I've heard that name before. Isn't he related to some FAMOUS person? I don't know anything about that, but I did see a picture in the Enquirer of Ravi kissing Maureen Dowd. Quote
Out2Lunch Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 I think I saw him kissing Monica Lewinsky once, or maybe it was the other way around or maybe....................... Quote
jacknife Posted June 28, 2003 Report Posted June 28, 2003 I'm no longer Organissimo-less! Just placed my order, can't wait! Quote

jacknife Posted June 29, 2003 Report Posted June 29, 2003 (edited) I feel like buying another copy of Organissimo just cause of the funniest shipping confirmation I ever received! 1 ORGANISSIMO: waiting for the boogaloo sister $13.99 $13.99 Sub Total $13.99 Shipping $2.25 Grand Total $16.24 Your CD has been gently taken from our CD Baby shelves with sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow. A team of 50 employees inspected your CD and polished it to make sure it was in the best possible condition before mailing. Our packing specialist from Japan lit a candle and a hush fell over the crowd as he put your CD into the finest gold-lined box that money can buy. We all had a wonderful celebration afterwards and the whole party marched down the street to the post office where the entire town of Portland waved 'Bon Voyage!' to your package, on its way to you, in our private CD Baby jet on this day, Saturday, June 28th. I hope you had a wonderful time shopping at CD Baby. We sure did. Your picture is on our wall as 'Customer of the Year'. We're all exhausted but can't wait for you to come back to CDBABY.COM!! I'm wondering why they marched to the post office if they put it on their private CD Baby jet??? Edited June 29, 2003 by jacknife Quote
