Rooster_Ties Posted April 24, 2020 Report Posted April 24, 2020 But what happens if it suddenly becomes partisan to suggest that you shouldn’t drink bleach?
clifford_thornton Posted April 24, 2020 Report Posted April 24, 2020 lol As far as the VV, I can't imagine concerts being held in NYC until 2021. I'd planned an event this fall but am supremely doubtful that it will be something I can pull off. Gatherings will have to be <50 and with adequate room for social distancing at the bare minimum, and that just isn't feasible.

Rooster_Ties Posted April 24, 2020 Report Posted April 24, 2020 False alarm, it was just sarcasm. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/amp/politics/trump-says-he-was-being-sarcastic-about-disinfectant-and-the-virus (Note: chosen emoticon is entirely sarcastic.)

mjazzg Posted April 24, 2020 Report Posted April 24, 2020 (edited) I'm so reassured that it's "medical doctors" that are going to be used. You all should be nice and safe. 2 hours ago, Rooster_Ties said: False alarm, it was just sarcasm. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/amp/politics/trump-says-he-was-being-sarcastic-about-disinfectant-and-the-virus (Note: chosen emoticon is entirely sarcastic.) Soulstation1 Posted April 24, 2020 Report Posted April 24, 2020 Movie theaters are selling bags of popcorn curbside....
David Ayers Posted April 25, 2020 Report Posted April 25, 2020 More here on the quest to disinfect and a self-styled ‘church’ that promotes it. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/apr/24/revealed-leader-group-peddling-bleach-cure-lobbied-trump-coronavirus Something to consider before you spray the Lysol on your cornflakes.

felser Posted April 25, 2020 Report Posted April 25, 2020 So much for the "no-politics edition", but how can we possibly help ourselves, LOL !!!
Guy Berger Posted April 25, 2020 Report Posted April 25, 2020 Looks like we’re headed for some US meat shortages due to the meat packing plants experiencing COVID outbreaks. I wish we protected our essential workers.

I wish we protected our essential workers. I made that obvious call early in March. Working conditions at meat/poultry plants have been frequently chronicled over the years in all forms of media. Politics precludes any further comment. Edited April 25, 2020 by T.D.
JSngry Posted April 25, 2020 Report Posted April 25, 2020 We can live just fine without eating processed meat. It's at best a convenience and an economic behemoth, not a necessity for survival. Not even slightly. Many people already do, although some of us (blush....) are REALLY out of practice.

Sadly, there is no getting through to some people the seriousness of all this, especially some of the younger element. That ‘just like a bad bout of flu’ thing seems to be a common misconception. clifford_thornton Posted April 26, 2020 Report Posted April 26, 2020 Was out for a run yesterday, sticking to side streets, and as I ran past a park it was plainly obvious that social distancing, masks, etc. were viewed as quite optional. The stroke shit is terrifying.
