Pim Posted October 20, 2020 Report Posted October 20, 2020 Anyone an idea if this will be avaible in Europe or do I need to order from the label or any US store? Quote
mjazzg Posted October 20, 2020 Report Posted October 20, 2020 No idea but I wasn't about to take the risk, It's the sort of title that could end up at Jazz Messengers or Honest Jon's. I would guess that will very much depend on how the initial sales go - if they go well then they may not be inclined to bother with international distribution. Maybe worth seeing if you find any of the label's other releases in Europe? Or, email them and ask? Quote
Pim Posted October 20, 2020 Report Posted October 20, 2020 Good idea! Some of their releases are avaible here but I’ve got a feeling the Al Fatihah release will be in small amounts, perhaps limited. Will email them. Quote
Rabshakeh Posted October 20, 2020 Report Posted October 20, 2020 I have just received an email updating me on the launch, along with a "thrilling" video giving a "sneak peak" of the lacquer cutting session in September. Quote
mjazzg Posted October 20, 2020 Report Posted October 20, 2020 Me too. I had to sit down after watching the video. Too much excitement for one day... Quote
barnaba.siegel Posted October 20, 2020 Report Posted October 20, 2020 About distribution in other countries, directly from GGR "No, they are only available via our website." Quote
Pim Posted October 20, 2020 Report Posted October 20, 2020 Yup got that message also. So that means: also not trough Dusty Groove or Amazon? Quote
Pim Posted October 20, 2020 Report Posted October 20, 2020 30 dollars for shipping, how unfortunate. I'll pass. Quote

Pim Posted October 22, 2020 Report Posted October 22, 2020 Yeah their shipping rates are very reasonable. But according to the guy working at Gotta Groove this will be only avaible trough their website. Well, we will see Quote

But 44 euros.... don’t want to complain too much but that is a very high price Quote
mjazzg Posted November 4, 2020 Report Posted November 4, 2020 This is a boutique release I don't see it coming cheap anywhere. Maybe if you tell yourself that it has Mal as an uncredited guest? Quote

Pim Posted November 13, 2020 Report Posted November 13, 2020 That is fast! Thought this was scheduled for the 27th? Quote
mjazzg Posted November 13, 2020 Report Posted November 13, 2020 Got my shipping notice too! May take a while to get here especially if customs snag it on the way in Quote
clifford_thornton Posted November 17, 2020 Report Posted November 17, 2020 Just arrived this morning. Great sound and pressing. I'm a bit of a puritan when it comes to non-expanded reissues with different covers, and the gatefold isn't ideal (compared to an insert) but Ras Moshe Burnett's liner notes are cool. I had not heard it in such a long time that I'd forgotten how introspective the record actually is, and the quietness of some of the cuts is well-served by this very silent vinyl. Recommended. Quote

Rabshakeh Posted November 17, 2020 Report Posted November 17, 2020 I got my tracking number today. Genuinely excited. Quote
Rabshakeh Posted November 19, 2020 Report Posted November 19, 2020 Mine's still stuck in Cleveland's USPS processing area. I'm trying to ignore the "glowing" reviews the USPS has been getting on this site. Quote
