Hardbopjazz
Pat hasn’t been able to play since 2018 due to health issues. Go Fund me page. It doesn’t look good for another legend. https://www.gofundme.com/f/pat-martino-fund?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet Edited November 1, 2021 by Hardbopjazz

Rabshakeh
I'm seeing some references to Pat Martino today that suggest that be may have sadly passed away. Very sad. I always enjoyed his playing.

mikeweil
RIP. I was not a fan but really like his playing on Don Patterson's albums, he was the best of all guitarists that recorded with Patterson.
sidewinder
Very sad news. Great player, fortunate enough to see him at least 3-4 times and he kindly signed some of his albums for me in exquisite script. The last time I saw him was at NorthSea I think with his trio but also around that time I attended a viewing of his biographical film focussing on the illness, where he was present in person to answer questions. That was a medically sponsored event by the Welcome Foundation. Fond memories of seeing him in prime at Ronnie Scott’s. RIP - sorry that he is no longer with us but thankful that he had that illustrious second career. BillF
Yes, sad news. Saw him once - about 6 years ago at Band on the Wall, Manchester in a great trio with Pat Bianchi and Carmen Intorre.

Milestones
To say the least, he had an interesting life and career. And the man really had some chops. I've heard plenty of good stuff, and would like to hear more--especially from the early years. In the later career, for me nothing tops Live at Yoshi's. R.I.P. Pat
tranemonk
This one sucks to me... I was lucky enough to see him a few times (maybe twice?)... Love all his records... His comeback was incredible... I hate this stuff... Thank you Pat...
