I was watching the HBO show about the Lakers and in a montage about Kareem footage of Mingus suddenly appeared.

Dave Brubeck and Charles Mingus both appear in the English film All Night Long, along with John Dankworth, Tubby Hayes, Alan Ganley and others.

The ones I remember Annie Ross being in were ‘Basket Case’ and ‘Basket Case 2’.  Quite effective in those, I thought.

Sure. In 1971, Dexter Gordon and Kenny Drew's trio (NHOP and Jual Curtis) appeared onscreen in Ole Ege's theatrically released hardcore pornographic film ‘Pornografi - en musical’, for which they composed and performed the score. Titles were Tivoli, The Group, Girl With The Purple Eyes and Onrop. Some of the music was recorded at Jazzhus Montmartre, where the quartet is also seen performing.
