Cassette? Ok. :)

I have one of these:

It's the best sounding boombox I've ever owned.

However, these days, I use a Bose Soundlink II Color and my cell phone for listening to tunes on the back deck:

This little sucker sounds great to my old ears. I play either MP3 files from my SD card or the XM radio app.

The boom box I bought sounds ok, quite musical for anything less than a full orchestra. Vocals come across well. The main advantage is the mobility, though it gets a bit lost in larger spaces. 


I also use a Bose Soundlink which sounds just fine for what it is, better than the boom box by a margin. P

 I should have said maybe that while the boombox gives you an idea of the music, the sound itself is somewhat retro. The Soundlink, by contrast, is musical and involving - quite amazingly so.

 

And the boombox only cost me £44...
