BERIGAN Posted January 16, 2020 Report Posted January 16, 2020 (edited) Stumbled across Singer-Guitarist Charlie Palloy recently, someone that apparently recorded under several names in the early 30s (mainly on the Crown label) then seemed to disappear. Haven't found a photo of him even! More impressed with his singing than guitaring. Obviously tried to sound like Crosby, but still had his own style. There is a cd out there too.... more soulful... more swinging.... Edited January 16, 2020 by BERIGAN Quote

Steve Reynolds Posted January 16, 2020 Report Posted January 16, 2020 Over the past year or so: On saxophones: Matt Nelson, Albert Cirera, Steve Backzowski, Julius Gabriel, Torben Snekkestad & Anna Högberg On bass: Goncalo Almeida, Hernani Faustino, Elsa Bergman & Brandon Lopez (Lopez more than a year but he deserves special mention as he is the real deal on a very high level) On drums: Onno Govaert, Tyler Damon, Ryan Packard & Lucas Niggli (again for Niggli more than a year but he also deserves special kudos as his playing is beyond belief) On guitar: Bill Nace, Bill Orcutt, Henry Kaiser & Tashi Dorji On trumpet: Susana Santos Silva & Purcy Pursglove Quote
nighthawk68 Posted January 16, 2020 Report Posted January 16, 2020 I thought I knew all of the organ guys but a friend lent me the only record by the Terrell Prude Trio. Issued on Ray Charles' Tangerine label. Frog Eyes Princess Quote

BERIGAN Posted April 3, 2020 Author Report Posted April 3, 2020 anyone ever heard of this guy before? A child prodigy, that decided at 13 or so that he'd rather give up touring and.....focus on his studies! Clearly a genius in several areas.... a bit later, I think with Count Basie and in 2007 Quote
