Upstateaudio
Does anyone know what has happened to the Blue Note Review series?
Lyin' Wolf
I was wondering the same thing. So much so that I did some searches a couple of days ago and came up empty. I was thinking that perhaps this thread was an announcement of a new set. I remember seeing something to the effect that Don Was underestimated how much time and effort it took to conceptualize and assemble one of these boxes so I know they backed off their original schedule. It also appears that volume 2 is still available. Maybe they are waiting to sell out before issuing another? Or maybe sales of volume were lower than expected and they're dropping the concept. Who knows?.... Edited December 10, 2019 by Lyin' Wolf

Don Was/Was NOT!

I certainly hope that the 10 inch LP of three tracks with Lee, Nicky Hill, Ira Sullivan, Bobby Timmons, Spanky Debrest and Philly Joe shows up somewhere, somehow. Cause I am not paying $200 just for that.

Sorry you’re right about that I’d like to hear that session but as you mentioned it doesn’t justify the price nor the weird combination with that ‘compilation by modern Blue Note artists. Lyin' Wolf
Did I see correctly that 2 LP compilation by modern artists + one tune by Lee Morgan is only 3 sides?

I’m sure that’s who it’s directed at. I think it has little appeal to people like us.
