Late Posted November 29, 2019 Report Posted November 29, 2019 Is this the first authorized release of these tapes? Hat Hut issues its first Coltrane disc — I wouldn't have expected the label to put out Coltrane, but why not! I'm in. Quote
Misterioso Posted November 30, 2019 Report Posted November 30, 2019 Great, looking forward to this! Quote

Gheorghe Posted November 30, 2019 Report Posted November 30, 2019 It seems that Graz in the 60´s had a great live scene. I remember the strange LP Max Roach and Sonny Rollins Graz 1963 (misdated, it is more possibly 1966), and the Jimmy Giuffree Trio live at Graz 1961 also on Hat Hut, which will be a present from my wife for my birthday (she saw it in the record store). So I´ll also be in for the Coltrane stuff of course. Quote
jazzbo Posted November 30, 2019 Report Posted November 30, 2019 amazon.com has it but it shows 'unavialable' right now--you can sign up to be notified when it is available to order. Quote
Ken Dryden Posted November 30, 2019 Report Posted November 30, 2019 I wonder how much the sound will improve, I've owned one of the European gray market sets for some time... Quote

The front cover notice —actually part of the cover art — of "license of original tapes" would seem to indicate something of significance. If the Giuffre Graz concert is any indication (that show was once deemed "unlistenable," but it turned out that the original tapes were in fine condition; the concert sounds great) then we may have reason to have high hopes. I've never owned a boot of this Coltrane show, so for me this is a no-brainer. Quote

chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez Posted December 1, 2019 Report Posted December 1, 2019 if the cd is mastered half as good as that soup dish looks, the things'll be fine Quote
Misterioso Posted December 1, 2019 Report Posted December 1, 2019 Info says 24bit recording. No guarantee fora good sound but there is hope. Quote

king ubu Posted July 13, 2020 Report Posted July 13, 2020 Part 2 is available now ... wanted to pick it up at the Swiss distributor's (which is in walking distance from my place), but they were closed that day last week ... hope to get it by Friday. I'm pretty impressed by what stubborn ol' Uehlinger has achieved with his new ezz-imprint, and I'm glad to be able to get the stuff in my hood (that distributor is specialised in classical music, and it's the only remaining "shop" I try and visit every month or so). https://www.jazzmessengers.com/en/83218/john-coltrane/my-favorite-things-graz-1962?search_query=john+coltrane+graz&results=4 Quote
EKE BBB Posted July 13, 2020 Report Posted July 13, 2020 I’m in, but I still need to get volume 1. Quote
