Teasing the Korean Posted September 22, 2019 Report Posted September 22, 2019 We don't seem to have a thread on Patsy. I am admittedly not much of a country fan, but I am currently enjoying Ken Burns' Country documentary. I pulled out the double LP The Patsy Cline Story on Decca and am listening now. What a voice. And I really love many of these songs. If Willie Nelson had never done anything other than write "Crazy," that would have been enough to immortalize him. Quote
kinuta Posted September 22, 2019 Report Posted September 22, 2019 I've always liked Patsy Cline. I'm no country fan but her voice cuts across musical boundaries. I don't have anything original to add, just that she had a great voice and knew how to use it. I've also got The Patsy Cline Story., plus a great, Japan only ' Best of', which is very enjoyable. mjzee Posted September 23, 2019 Report Posted September 23, 2019 I love Patsy Cline. I only have the original Greatest Hits album, which I suspect is sufficient. You should see the movie Coal Miner’s Daughter, with Beverly D’Angelo doing a great turn as Cline. Quote

How is this possible? Quote
danasgoodstuff Posted September 23, 2019 Report Posted September 23, 2019 No "Crazy" because it's a collection of very early work from a different label. Patsy meets Irving Berlin. Quote

Stereojack Posted September 23, 2019 Report Posted September 23, 2019 The MCA "Greatest Hits" is a fine introduction, but for the hard core fan (include me) there's this: Quote
